• Children's Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade Passing Jackson Square

Holiday Parades

Every year, the holiday season in New Orleans is filled with many highlights – and it should come as no surprise that in a city known for Mardi Gras celebrations, over-the-top festive holiday parades are an integral part of the fun.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade

Partnering with Downtown District and Kern Studios, the first-of-its-kind Children’s Hospital New Orleans Holiday Parade will take place on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m.

There will be more than 20 custom-designed, holiday-themed floats. The floats will include animatronic props, intelligent lighting systems, special effects, and audio systems, along with traditional rider floats. The parade will also include high-flying helium balloons displayed for the first time in New Orleans along with marching groups and bands, and of course, Santa himself with his special holiday characters.

The Children’s Hospital parade will begin at the corner of Esplanade Avenue and North Peters Street. It will then roll through the French Quarter and turn onto Canal Street, making its way to Baronne Street, traveling through downtown to Julia Street befoer ending along St. Charles Avenue in front of Lafayette Square.

There will be a post-parade celebration with music from Rebirth Brass Band, food, and more at Lafayette Square from 1-3 p.m.

MOBILE MENORAH PARADE

Hanukkah begins on December 19 this year. Celebrate the season with the Mobile Menorah Parade, a fun-filled, family-friendly car parade slated for December 24. This year’s location is still TBD, so check back for details.
